Responsibilities

Team Development: Coach, mentor, and guide engineers in technical skills, career growth, and communication, ensuring a continuous focus on building and scaling high-performing individuals
Technical Leadership: Uphold a high technical bar through rigorous code reviews, design discussions, and technical decision-making. Foster strong security and compliance practices, and stay hands-on with the code when needed to support delivery and set the standard
Hiring & Retention: Conduct interviews and build stable, high-performing teams, specifically focusing on providing stability for a team that has seen recent management rotations
Operational Excellence: Review existing processes and proactively offer improvements rather than just following established workflows
Execution & Delivery: Own outcomes end-to-end. Ensure tradeoffs are explicit, commitments are met, and misses are identified early through proactive escalation
Strategic Collaboration: Partner in a Triad structure with Product and Design. Navigate the team through a fast-paced environment with constant change and shifting priorities, including AI-assisted development
Accountability: Ensure that leadership is never surprised by team status and that a deep level of trust is built with the engineers
Player-Coach Mindset: Maintain a "must-have" mindset for hands-on work; while not coding daily, you are ready to step into the code to unblock the team or expedite delivery
