Responsibilities
With the assistance from the designated Admit Nurse/House Supervisor, the Bed Control Coordinator establishes and maintains the viability of the hospital by recording admission requests to the hospital and making a bed assignment
Qualification
Required
Experience in an acute hospital admitting / business office environment
Previous experience in communicating with the public
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
Working knowledge of Medical Terminology
Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area and ability to type 40 WPM
Ability to use computers, multiline phones, faxes, copiers, printer, etc
Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards and respect
Advance care through development of new ideas and technology
Promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission
Understand and exceed customer expectations
Effectively solve complex patient care and organizational problems
Role model positive and professional behavior
Basic Life Support (BLS)
