Delaware River Port Authority is seeking an Electronic Technician to maintain and troubleshoot all electronic equipment assigned to the Equipment Department. The role involves diagnosing control problems, repairing electrical systems, and ensuring a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

Diagnose control problems through knowledge of electrical theory, use of test equipment and the use of schematic wiring diagrams
Test, analyze, evaluate and repair electrical/electronic circuits and electronic devices
Repair, restore and overhaul electrical control systems
Repair and overhaul transit car electrical/electronic systems and equipment
The individual for this position assists in maintaining a safe and secure work environment by participating in required training, recognizing and reporting hazards and suspicious activity, and using all required personal protective equipment
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test and a background check
Must be able to pass a proficiency examination that addresses all of the required knowledge
Must be a high school graduate and have certification of completion of additional vocational/technical training in the theory of analog and microprocessor based control systems as well as electrical maintenance repair techniques and workmanship
Must have two (2) years of experience working as a journeyman technician, maintaining rail transit vehicles with analog and microprocessor based electronic controls. Experience with a similar system in an industrial environment may be considered equivalent to experience maintaining rail transit vehicles. Experience must include electronic and electrical control system troubleshooting and repair, electronic circuit board or module troubleshooting and repair, microprocessor diagnosis, wiring and cabling skills, and journeyman level skills inspecting motors, repairing and rebuilding relays, switches and contactors
Valid Driver's License in state of residence, without major violations for last 3 years
This position requires journeyman level proficiency in understanding and in the use of electronic test equipment which is found in electronic maintenance shops. This includes, but is not limited to, loading test software, automatic test equipment, test adapters, oscilloscopes, frequency generators, counter/timers for monitoring the characteristics of energized power and control circuits
This position requires organized documentation and communicating skills. Electronic Technicians make test set ups, with or without prepared procedures, test, record and analyze the results. The technician must clearly and concisely communicate methodology and the results of their analysis to others
