Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate horticulture courses (e.g., plant propagation) and advise online students, including working adults who may require occasional evening or weekend meetings
Oversee all online course offerings for SSA
Program development, course scheduling, supporting and managing online instructors, monitoring course evaluations, maintaining web content and mailing lists, and collaborating with University Relations and University Without Walls on marketing, recruitment, and enrollment growth
Work collaboratively and effectively to promote teamwork, equality and inclusiveness
Work in partnership with colleagues within the CNS community and across the campus to support the Dean’s strategic priorities
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the College of Natural Sciences

Required

Master's degree in horticulture, plant science or a closely related field (required by the appointment start date)
Demonstrated experience in teaching, preferably including online instruction
Experience in program coordination or academic program management
Evidence of leadership in horticulture and strong skills in teaching, presenting, or communicating technical information
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently, lead teams, and collaborate effectively
Demonstrated entrepreneurship and creativity in program development or academic innovation
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, adapt to shifting schedules, and support a diverse population of working adult learners
Ability to develop and implement new programs, create syllabi, and design new courses in an academic setting
