Technical Specialist

Information Technology & Services

Responsibilities

Perform complex maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on elevators and chairlifts across school facilities to ensure safety and operational efficiency
Monitor the construction and installation of new and replacement elevator systems, providing technical guidance and oversight
Assist in training and mentoring less experienced staff, sharing expertise to enhance team capabilities
Respond promptly to work orders related to elevator and chairlift issues, diagnosing problems and implementing corrective actions
Replace faulty or outdated equipment, ensuring all work complies with safety and building codes
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs, ensuring accurate documentation for compliance and reporting purposes
Adhere to all safety policies, OSHA standards, and district regulations to promote a safe working environment
Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and external agencies to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and compliance activities
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to extend the lifespan of elevator systems and prevent failures
Stay current with technological advancements and factory certifications related to elevator systems and safety standards

Required

Extensive knowledge and experience in servicing elevators and chairlifts
A minimum of ten years of direct experience in elevator and chairlift installation and maintenance
Familiarity with multiple elevator manufacturers
Valid Electrical License (SP-EL)
Relevant certifications
Ability to complete safety training within twelve months of employment
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to work independently
Ability to establish effective working relationships
Ability to perform physical tasks involving heavy exertion and operating specialized equipment
