CORE Health Alliance Program Manager

NEOGOV is seeking a CORE Health Alliance Program Manager for Guilford County, responsible for coordinating and implementing health initiatives under the Healthy People Healthy Carolinians grant. Responsibilities

Provide visionary, adaptive leadership, modeling Core Health Alliance always guiding values and fostering a culture that reflects them
Establish, facilitate, and maintain effective and open communication with the Extension Director, Steering Committee, and other stakeholders, including community members
Facilitate the development and maintenance of a data-informed and community-driven plan to improve and support physical health and nutrition in Guilford County
Provide support to partner organizations in aligning their work with the CORE Health Alliance
Meeting Coordination
Adm Meetings – plan monthly meeting agendas with feedback from Extension Director and Assistant County Manager, facilitate meetings, maintains meeting notes and associated documentation
Steering Team Meetings – secure meeting space for quarterly meetings, plan meeting agendas, prepare meeting space and logistics ahead of meetings, ensure notes are kept for meetings
Community and public event coordination – plan, implement, and evaluate up to twelve (12) community and public events related to grant deliverables
Event Implementation
With data from community health assessments, lead events to engage the Steering Team, coalition members, and community members to plan, implement, and evaluate community-based events that promote physical health and nutrition
Identify best practices and innovative strategies to improve health outcomes in selected communities
With stakeholders and community members, develop a plan to implement programs that improve health outcomes in identified communities
Plan, implement, and evaluate up to eight (8) community engagement meetings each calendar year
Conduct needs assessment and readiness assessments for communities to engage in grant-funded work
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with grassroots community leaders, faith leaders, and other stakeholders
Participate in required training by The Duke Endowment (one requires one overnight stay)
Write and submit grant reports to The Duke Endowment, other funders, and Guilford County
Identify improvements in use of data-driven decision-making and ensure data is collected, integrated, and communicated effectively across Coalition
Fiscal resource management
Grant writing and fund development to support program implementation, partnerships, and sustainability
Maintain program records in a secure and approved location
General administrative duties
Provide Core Team with documentation of work to support partnership and resource development, grant-related expenditures and planned expenditures, milestones, and foreseeable challenges
Create and maintain appropriate systems for business processes and optimal operational management
Communicate the objectives of Community Health Coalition to the community and potential partners, including sharing the goals of the Community Health Coalition
Create an annual summary of the efforts, achievements, and challenges of the Community Health Coalition and its partners
Responsible for creating social media posts, press releases, interviews, and other forms of communication and, when needed, coordinating with funders and partners for approval and release

Required

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in human services, community development, public health, business administration, or related field
Five years of related experience
Knowledge of best practices in collective action work and authentic engagement with community leaders and members
Knowledge of financial reporting practices for grants
Knowledge of best practices in program design and implementation
Knowledge of effective oral and written communication strategies
Knowledge of best practices in program evaluation
Knowledge of results-based accountability
Knowledge of social determinants of health
Knowledge of the impact of health disparities
Skilled in effective written and verbal communication skills
Skilled in meeting and event planning and coordination of event
Skilled in time management, project planning, and managing multiple priorities
Ability to foster alignment among stakeholders
Ability to present accurate information in-person and virtually to a variety of community members, leaders, and stakeholders
Ability to cultivate cross-sector relationships and build collaborative networks
Ability to strategically design and adapt programs and pilots to meet stated goals
Ability to engage authentically with community members, build trust between community members funders, and partner agencies, encourage community voice in decision-making, and incorporate community feedback into the program
Ability to understand an existing budget, monitor for performance, and make recommendations for budget changes when needed
Ability to complete accurate and timely budget reports
Ability to complete accurate and timely grant applications
Ability to balance competing priorities between grant requirements, coalition and community input, and evolving community needs
Ability to adapt and communicate information to a wide range and level of people and situations
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, supervisors, stakeholders, Core Team, Steering Committee members and external partners
