Electronic Systems Specialist

The Minnesota Department of Administration is committed to improving the well-being and quality of life for all Minnesotans. They are seeking an Electronic Systems Specialist to maintain, repair, and alter data processing systems for environmental controls, access control, security devices, and more on the Capitol Complex in St. Paul.
Government Administration

Responsibilities

Planning, installing, calibrating, configuring, maintaining, and repairing electronics equipment to maintain the operational status of the Capitol Complex integrated environmental, UL fire alarm, access control, security camera, emergency intercom, metering, and lighting systems
Ensuring proper operation of all fire alarms and audio systems in the state buildings on the Capitol Complex in the event of a fire or other emergency
Perform necessary routine functions to the Honeywell EBI Systems and remotes to ensure minimum downtime

Required

Must hold and maintain an Electrician license. Acceptable electrical licensure includes: Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, Power Limited Electrician, Maintenance Electrician, and Exempt Maintenance Electrician
If the successful candidate does not currently hold a Power Limited Technician or higher license, they will be required to register as an unlicensed individual prior to hire and will perform work in accordance with M.S. 326B.33
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Experience installing, maintaining, repairing, and programming environmental, security, and fire alarm control systems
Working knowledge of pneumatic fundamentals that interface with digital controls
Ability to communicate effectively with employees and outside vendors
Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints sufficient to accurately install and locate electrical/electronic equipment
Problem-solving skills sufficient to diagnose and repair problems quickly and efficiently

Preferred

Vocational/technical degree in Electronics is highly desired
Electronics experience with primary responsibility for the installation, operation, programming and maintenance of commercial security, environmental and fire alarm control systems
