Network Engineer (RHEL)

They are seeking a Red Hat Network Engineer to support day-to-day network operations, manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, and assist with ITSM processes while collaborating with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities
Support day-to-day network and system operations, resolving issues and completing routine tasks to ensure stable operations
Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, including patching, configuration, and troubleshooting
Manage and maintain VMware systems including ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, and VDI environments
Use automation tools such as Ansible and scripting (Bash, Python optional) to streamline tasks and reduce manual effort
Participate in change management, incident management, and other ITSM/ITIL processes
Assist with deployments and integration efforts in support of the software development lifecycle
Work directly with clients to understand issues, provide updates, and deliver reliable technical support
Collaborate with internal engineering, systems, and cybersecurity teams to ensure efficient handoffs and coordinated solutions
Document system changes, troubleshooting steps, and standard operating procedures to support repeatability and knowledge sharing
Qualification
Required
CompTIA Network+ or Security+ or Linux+ certification required within 90 days of start
A minimum of one year of professional experience in network engineering or systems administration
Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and VMware environments
Familiarity with SDLC workflows and how infrastructure supports development and testing environments
Experience with VPNs, firewalls, and other standard network security tools
US Citizenship required
Active secret clearance is required
Preferred
CCNA certification
Proficiency with network protocols including, but not limited to: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
Skills in automation and scripting using Ansible and Bash
General understanding of ITSM/ITIL processes and their application in daily operations
Military experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
