Senior Associate, Facilities Engineer

Responsibilities

Design solutions to support vacuum systems used in the hot fire testing of rocket engines
Coordinate purchase of equipment, components, and materials for equipment in the test facility
Work with EHS to ensure appropriate use of safety protocols and environmental requirements are met for all facility activities
Coordinate activities with internal personnel as well as outside contractors to complete facility projects (replace equipment, implement improvements, troubleshoot issues, etc.)
Use and operate various computer systems to procure facility equipment
Apply general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with the working team and those contacted in the course of work
Effectively communicate to supervision/lead person, maintenance, engineering or other employees of the organization
Other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the test lab

Required

Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience is preferred, but not required
Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering, or related engineering discipline preferred
Experience with boiler systems and cooling towers
Experience sizing vacuum pumps for small to large scale applications
Familiarity with sizing and specifying hydraulic equipment used for incompressible flow systems (i.e. pumps, valves, sensors, flowmeters, etc.)
Knowledge of high pressure gas systems and industrial electrical systems
Ability and willingness to work other shifts and overtime as necessary
