Responsibilities
Maintain IT governance frameworks supporting academic, research, and administrative operations
Ensure compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and higher education security regulations
Support internal/external audits and accreditation-related technology compliance
Develop and update AI-related policies, standards, and guidelines (data privacy, cybersecurity, ethical use)
Use AI to enhance monitoring of security awareness programs
Track emerging AI governance regulations and recommend process improvements
Qualification
Required
10+ years – IT Governance, Risk, or Compliance experience
10+ years – Governance frameworks (COBIT, ITIL) and compliance standards (NIST, ISO)
5+ years – Engaging business partners & technical teams in AI compliance initiatives
Strong analytical skills to interpret complex AI compliance requirements
Excellent communication skills across faculty, administrators, and IT teams
Preferred
Experience with AI Governance & Compliance in higher education or regulated environments
Understanding of higher education systems (LMS, SIS, ERP)
Knowledge of AI data privacy requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field
