Responsibilities
Performs unskilled or limited semi-skilled labor in any or all of the areas of grounds maintenance, facility or equipment maintenance, and construction, including turf and irrigation maintenance, minor construction, trash collection, and facility cleaning to include cleaning of restrooms
Operates assigned tools and equipment, including power tools as needed for assigned maintenance and improvement projects
Drives County vehicles and other equipment to perform assigned duties; operates all County vehicles and equipment per County guidelines
Performs routine and preventative maintenance and cleaning of assigned vehicles, equipment, and tools
Provides departmental support for special events and other activities
Performs other duties as required
Qualification
Required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance, hand and power tools, painting, plumbing, and minor electrical repairs
Ability to safely operate and maintain tools/equipment. Must observe and follow safety procedures and precautions
Ability to communicate and work effectively with County employees and the public. Ability to provide excellent customer service
Must be willing to work late evenings, weekends, and holidays
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, motor vehicle record check, drug screen, and physical examination
