Water Program Specialist

NEOGOV is seeking a Water Program Specialist to join the Department of Environmental Protection. The role involves conducting environmental reviews of wetland and waterway restoration projects and providing guidance on compliance with established regulations.

Responsibilities

Conduct statewide environmental reviews of wetland and waterway restoration projects to ensure compliance with established guidelines and regulations
Conduct field investigations and reviews of wetland and waterway restoration projects
Provide guidance regarding mitigation and restoration issues or concerns
Coordinate, analyze, and develop program manuals, guidance documents, permit forms, educational materials, fact sheets, and other information regarding the implementation and support of statewide wetland and waterway restoration initiatives and other related programs
Maintain accurate and detailed project data
Prepare annual reports
Review remediation plans
Manage incoming and outgoing bills and contracts
Prepare and deliver formal presentations of project outcomes
Maintain a strong understanding of DEP regulations surrounding water quality, erosion and sediment, floodplains, wetlands and obstructions, and more
Provide frequent program guidance and general information to regional and district staff, other agencies, landowners, and the general public

Required

Three years of professional environmental protection experience; and a bachelor's degree in the biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; or an equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of professional environmental protection experience
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license
You must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport for this position. Proof of possession will be needed at the time of a conditional offer of employment
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
