Nuclear Safety Specialist
NEOGOV is seeking a Nuclear Safety Specialist with the Department of Environmental Protection. The role involves evaluating Nuclear Power Plant operations and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while participating in emergency exercises and providing guidance for radiological emergency plans.

Responsibilities
Participate in evaluations of Nuclear Power Plant operations, primarily focused on the Crane Clean Energy Center (Formally TMI)
Review and evaluation of industry and federal reports pertaining to Safety and Environmental aspects of Nuclear Power Facilities
Participating in Radiological emergency exercises
Ensuring compliance with the Radiation Protection act ( ACT 147 ) And other Radiological safety initiatives as established by Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
Engage in emergency exercises and drills at nuclear power plants to develop and sustain your ability to evaluate plant conditions during nuclear incidents or accidents
Provide guidance and support to other agency personnel in creating and implementing radiological emergency plans for nuclear facilities
Qualification
Required
Three years of professional experience in nuclear systems safety analysis involving Boiling Water Reactors or Pressurized Water Reactors, and a bachelor's degree in nuclear, mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, structural or environmental engineering, or in engineering technology; or an equivalent combination of experience and training
This position requires possession of a valid driver's license that is not under suspension
You must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport for this position. Proof of possession will be needed at the time of a conditional offer of employment
You must meet the PA residency requirement
