Generation Engineering Intern

Responsibilities
Assist with design, development, execution, and/or analysis of engineering projects at power generation facilities
Support other engineering staff with inspections and operational issues within the fleet
Participate in operational troubleshooting and problem-solving for power generation equipment
Monitor and analyze process data and work to support reliable and efficient plant operations
Follow established safety procedures
Review, verify, and update engineering drawings, including process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation drawings, and electrical schematics
Assist and perform visual and quantitative equipment inspections at power generation facilities
Analyzing plant heat rate for combined cycle and simple cycle facilities
Pump and/or motor reliability analysis and maintenance strategy
Qualification
Required
Successfully completed two (2) to three (3) years of undergraduate study towards a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Strong attention to detail
Highly motivated self-starter who has a willingness to learn
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer skills including AutoCAD
Ability to work safely in an industrial environment
Preferred
Preference will be given to students who attend accredited colleges and universities in Tri-State's service territory which includes Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and New Mexico
