Responsibilities
Develop and implement the Data Governance Roadmap and Blueprint, aligned with business and regulatory needs
Define and enforce data policies, standards, principles, and stewardship models
Lead cross-functional governance councils, driving adoption of governance processes
Establish data ownership and stewardship frameworks across data domains
Create and maintain the MDM Roadmap and Blueprint, including domain identification, prioritization, and operating models
Provide guidance on MDM practices, including data mastering, golden record creation, and hierarchies
Partner with technology teams to evaluate and implement MDM solutions
Design and implement enterprise data quality frameworks, rules, scorecards, and KPIs
Conduct root cause analysis on data quality issues and drive corrective action plans
Establish data quality dashboards and continuous monitoring processes
Drive metadata management practices including business glossary, technical metadata, and lineage
Implement and maintain data cataloging and classification using Microsoft Purview
Ensure visibility and traceability of data assets through automated lineage
Design and validate conceptual, logical, and physical data models
Use SQL and Python for data profiling, data validation, and cleansing activities
Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure models integrate effectively into pipelines and platforms
Lead configuration and governance automation in Microsoft Purview
Evaluate and recommend data governance and MDM technologies
Contribute to the adoption of best practices in cloud-based governance (Azure preferred)
Qualification
Required
7–12 years of experience in data governance, data management, or data architecture roles
Demonstrated expertise in Data Governance Frameworks (DCAM, DAMA DMBoK)
SQL & Python
Data Quality Management
Data Modeling
MDM Roadmaps & Operating Models
Metadata Management
Microsoft Purview (cataloging, classification, lineage)
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to influence and collaborate with business and technology leaders
Preferred
Experience with Azure data ecosystem (Synapse, ADLS, Databricks, etc.)
Background in financial services, retail, telecom, or similar data-heavy industries
Certifications in data governance, cloud, or MDM technologies
