Peri-Operative Clinical Educator - Northeast

Responsibilities
Establish and maintain professional relationships with targeted opinion leaders and hospitals/ASCs, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, pharmacy, other critical medical staff. Present a professional and knowledgeable image in all business matters to gain trust for initial usage and continued education of Heron products in their institutions
Identify decision-makers and key contacts in accounts and establish and maintain professional relationships in order to develop buy-in and support Heron’s acute care portfolio
Conduct on-site product training and education for clinical staff
Assist internal stakeholders with continued clinical education such as new hire training
Support case observations and provide real-time guidance during procedures
Identify additional on label surgical opportunities for Heron products, bringing in internal Heron partners as needed
Assist in driving infrastructure development for products with OR Pyxis stocking, patient tracking, and adding to surgeon preference cards
Provide consistent feedback with Internal Heron partners with respect to key learnings, opportunities for expansion, and need for adjusting OR support levels
Engage in informed discussions and communicate a compliant, current, effective, on-label message and accurate sales presentation to customers. Customize interactions based on individual customer needs and perspectives
Verbally deliver clear and concise instruction on the safe and efficacious use of Heron’s Acute Care products to customers in and out of the peri-operative setting, including in-services for surgeons and clinical staff
Work alongside peri-operative staff to ensure products are used as approved by the hospital or institution
Complete required training on new data and materials. Attend regional and national meetings, as required
Maintain a current working knowledge of Company’s Acute Care products, relevant disease states, and competitor products to provide comprehensive clinical knowledge to customer contacts
Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with applicable laws, industry regulations and the PhRMA Code
Complete assigned administrative tasks, including customer records, in a timely, accurate, legible, and organized manner complying with all corporate policies, procedures, and standards
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum one (1) year of peri-op experience
Clinical experience as a RN, Scrub tech, PA
Candidates must satisfy reasonable credentialing requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations and background checks, where applicable
Minimum one (1) year of experience building and maintaining strong professional relationships with pharmacists and surgeons across multiple specialties
Demonstrated experience working alongside physicians and staff in the peri-operative environment
Demonstrated understanding of EMR, preference cards, order sets and CPOE systems
Ability to communicate a current, effective, and accurate description of Heron products to surgeons & OR staff
Demonstrated success in a team environment and the ability to partner closely with others
Compliance with corporate policies and procedures and applicable FDA and OIG legal standards and requirements as well as PhRMA Code
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in addition to being self-motivated with a sense of urgency, well organized, and possessing strong problem-solving abilities
Must be willing to travel by car or plane as needed for training and going to multiple locations (hospitals and ASCs)
Must be available to travel up to 50-75%, including overnight travel, work early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as required
Preferred
Fully credentialed candidates are strongly preferred
Experience in orthopedic and general surgery and pain management preferred
