Program Leader - Military Controls Engineering
GE Aerospace is focused on system level program management and controls integration for military engines. The Military Controls Program Leader will oversee program planning and execution of software and hardware deliverables for engine control systems.

Responsibilities
Provide program management leadership responsible for full system integration of Control, Electrical, and Fluid Systems with the engine and aircraft systems
Lead daily management collaborations with assigned team members and utilize Flight Deck problem solving and standard work methodology
Develop and own the overall technical scope, budget and schedule for assigned programs working with the design and systems teams to execute those programs
Apply horizontal leadership with the Project, Sales and Marketing, and Engineering teams to define the product’s sustaining and derivative platform strategy and influence the platform roadmap
Represent the controls community in customer discussions, Technical Reviews, CIP and Program Management Reviews providing guidance and direction on best path forward to customer options
Lead customer proposal submittals for new controls program opportunities
Drive Strategic platform goals including maximizing commonality across models, addressing Safety Program Management Team actions, and leveraging lessons learned/best practices
Monitor and communicate with management on technical, organizational, program, and resource issues. Provide management with recommendations to execute programs and resolve issues
Champion collaboration across the matrix. Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams. Lead, energize, and mentor other team members
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Maintain broad awareness of efforts within the group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university
A minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering position

Preferred
Project/Program Management Experience
Experience leading large, cross functional teams
Demonstrated ability to document, plan and manage complex hardware and/or software product development programs
Experience with engine control systems and/or aircraft level system integration
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems (DOORS, Excel, Project Planning software)
Experience managing business operations including operational budgets
Experience leading cross-functional teams in coordination / collaboration
Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels clearly and concisely in the organization
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to guide / mentor and influence others
Demonstrated ability to act as a change agent
Experience partnering horizontally with Sourcing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Services and Product Management to influence product designs for lifecycle cost and value
Ability to dive into procurement and logistics and advocate for accelerating product cost out
Master of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
