This role involves administering ServiceNow Discovery, maintaining CMDB data quality, and troubleshooting operational requests related to configuration data.

Responsibilities
Managing and optimizing ServiceNow Discovery schedules, MID Servers, credentials, and patterns
Troubleshooting Discovery failures, resolving data mismatches, and validating discovered CIs with infrastructure teams
Performing CMDB data maintenance including updates, reconciliation activities, and lifecycle management
Supporting integrations that feed CI data into the CMDB
Configuring and enhancing platform components related to CMDB and Discovery
Testing enhancements, platform upgrades, and Discovery pattern updates
Managing ticket queues related to CMDB data updates and Discovery issues
Creating and maintaining Knowledge Articles and process documentation
Collaborating with IT teams to ensure data consistency and alignment with CMDB governance standards
Identifying opportunities to improve CMDB processes, Discovery accuracy, and operational efficiency
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience
3–5 years of experience with ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB administration
Experience managing Discovery schedules, patterns, MID Servers, and credentials
Strong understanding of CI classes, relationships, and the Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE)
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow configuration (fields, forms, business rules, UI policies)
Ability to troubleshoot Discovery failures, credential issues, and CMDB data conflicts
Proficiency with JavaScript/Glide scripting for automation and data cleanup
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and data accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Experience supporting ITSM, ITOM, or ITAM modules
Familiarity with CMDB governance practices and data quality frameworks
Knowledge of IT Asset Management (HAM) and its relationship to CMDB data
Experience working in Agile environments
Experience collaborating with infrastructure teams (network, server, cloud)
ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, Discovery Fundamentals, CMDB Fundamentals, CIS–Discovery, or Advanced System Administration
