Responsibilities
Lead systems engineering activities for aerospace Environmental Control Systems (ECS) or related electro-mechanical systems
Decompose system-level requirements into subsystem and component-level requirements, ensuring full traceability
Support verification and validation (V&V) planning and execution for mechanical systems
Develop and maintain system architecture and interface definitions
Create detailed Basis of Estimate (BOE) documentation to support proposals and program planning
Contribute to proposal package development, including:
Engineering estimates
System architecture definition
Compliance matrices
Technical response documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, test, and program management
Support onsite test campaigns (if located near Torrance, CA) to ensure system performance and compliance
Ensure adherence to aerospace industry standards and customer requirements
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of Environmental Control Systems (ECS) or electro-mechanical systems integration
Proven experience in requirements decomposition, verification, and validation for mechanical systems
Experience developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for engineering efforts
Background in aerospace ECS engineering and structured requirements management
Experience assembling complete proposal packages, including: Engineering cost and labor estimates, System architecture development, Compliance matrices, Technical response documentation
Strong analytical and systems-thinking capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating across teams
Preferred
Hands-on support experience during system test campaigns
Familiarity with aerospace development lifecycle processes and documentation standards
