Equity in Justice Program Manager
The State Bar of New Mexico is a professional membership organization of attorneys licensed to practice law in New Mexico. They are seeking an Equity in Justice Program Manager to support committees and initiatives focused on diversity, inclusion, and equity in the justice system.

Responsibilities
Works with legal groups to coordinate and implement programs and initiatives related to diversity, inclusion, and equity in justice
Develops creative methods to highlight the inclusionary efforts within the State Bar of NM organization, collaborating with internal staff and departments to integrate equity principles into operations, programming, communications, and use of facilities
Assists the Legal Well Being Director with administrative responsibilities, program planning, implementation and assessment as needed
Works with the Communications Department, Center for Legal Education, and Governance/Administration to increase visibility and participation of underrepresented communities in State Bar/Bar Foundation continuing education programming, leadership recruitment, and communication/marketing/publication features
Develops and implements, independently and in collaboration with others, original programing promoting and educating members of the State Bar on areas of diversity, inclusion, and equity in justice
Creates and Develops tools and resources for the New Mexico Legal Profession and Legal Employers, including practical tools, guidance, and educational resources to support diversity, inclusion, and equity efforts across the legal profession
Serves as main staff liaison to the Committee on Diversity in the Legal Profession and the Committee on Women in the Legal Profession, providing coordination and support for committee’s priorities, initiatives, and long-term planning
Supports activities to implement recommendations from the decennial •Status of Minorities and Gender in the Legal Profession• report
Assists the State Bar with structural changes to committee composition to provide enhanced diversity, inclusion, and equity in justice services
Maintains a general knowledge of group policies and bylaws
Interacts with groups and members to support their activities
Serves as liaison to external voluntary bars
Attends and staffs group meetings and events as needed
Arranges food/beverage for group meetings and sets up meeting rooms as needed
Works with Communications Department to maintain online presence of group activities, updates, and other forms of engagement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field and 3 or more years relevant, progressive professional experience
Ability to “self-start” and work unsupervised
High level of professionalism, respect, and excellent customer relations and communication skills, both verbal and written, for dealing with members of the public and attorneys
Problem solving and project management skills
Ability to build trust-based relationships with organizational, community, and judiciary leaders
Clerical and organizational skills needed for program administration
Administrative skills, including ability to organize workload and effectively manage several areas of responsibility
Ability to work in a variety of capacities
Ability to determine priorities and advise supervisors when conflicts in priorities exist
Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
Problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to learn and adapt to new technology
Ability to manage one's own time
Employees must be United States Citizens or eligible to work in the United States
Employment with the State Bar is on an “at-will” basis
Employees are required to adhere to all State Bar policies and procedures
Preferred
Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience or coursework in diversity, equity, inclusion, and equity in justice areas
