Senior Facilities Project Manager
The City of Fort Collins is hiring for a Senior Facilities Project Manager who will manage both small and large construction projects and building renovations. This position organizes, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated municipal facility projects to ensure that the goals or objectives of each project are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe and budget requirements.

Responsibilities
Manages major City building remodel and capital construction, as well as alteration/renovation projects from design through project completion
Provides technical consultation and budget estimates to internal as well as external agencies
Works directly with customers and contractors to develop scope of work including conceptual working drawings, specifications and schedules
Develops project designs, schedules, and preliminary and final cost estimates; schedules projects to minimize downtime and impact on existing systems and work environments
Prepares requests for proposal and monitors committees selecting architects, engineers and professional services for building projects
Inspects work for conformance to drawings, specifications and standards
Manages project budget and tracks costs; reviews and approves for payment all invoices for professional fees and contractor bills
Reviews project RFP's to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans
Prepares project reports, budget reports and/or research studies for management, clients, or other agencies
Collaborates with building users, design teams and building construction teams; acts as liaison between project personnel, client departments and contractors
Coordinates project and government regulatory or other governmental agencies activities
Writes or directs the writing of industry standard specifications; makes presentations
Qualification
Required
At least 10 years of experience in construction management, building design, facility project management experience in schools, governmental, municipalities, or similar experience
A degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management is helpful and can substitute for several years of experience but is not required
Specialized training in facilities construction and advanced knowledge in construction methods, materials, and regulations
Knowledge of and ability to use survey equipment
Ability to understand and administer general construction contracts, plans and specifications, and commercial contract procedures
Ability to read, design and draft changes to construction drawings
Ability to use computer-aided design, word processing, database, spreadsheet, project management and presentation software
Ability to prepare bid specifications, timelines, and budgets
Working knowledge of budget process and budget management skills
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to interact and negotiate effectively with City staff, outside agencies, contractors, vendors and the general public
College degree or equivalent work experience
Five to seven years of construction management, including commercial and/or industrial construction management and contract administration; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid driver's license
Preferred
Commercial General Contractor's License
City Construction Supervisor's Certificate
Certified Construction Contract Administrator
Professional Engineer
Licensed Architect
Certified Construction Manager
