Responsibilities

Assist the Director of the Office of Innovation in developing, promoting, and completing research projects
Use statewide longitudinal education data to analyze factors that inform a comprehensive and coherent statewide education plan
Identify patterns and trends in student performance and growth
Investigate relationships among factors that directly and/or indirectly impact student academic outcomes
Differentiate among various challenges or needs within the state and local systems
Use data about student growth to support effective teaching and improve overall teacher effectiveness
Work collaboratively with the Director and external stakeholders to synthesize findings from evidence-based research and statewide data analytics
Contribute to research and data collection design to accomplish the research agenda of the Office
Create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others

Ph.D in education statisticsResearch experienceData analyticsStatistical software SASStatistical software RStatistical software PythonLongitudinal data experienceK-12 assessment data

Required

Ph.D in education statistics, research, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment
At least three or more years of related experience in research and data analytics

Preferred

At least five or more years of experience with statistical software (SAS, R or Python)
At least three or more years of longitudinal data experience with education data and policy
Proof of Veteran Status
