Responsibilities
Support the end-to-end project lifecycle, coordinating between nontechnical users, development teams, and management across trading, investor relations, treasury, operations, corporate accounting, fund accounting, and tax
Develop an understanding of data flows, workflows, and dependencies across firm-wide groups and systems
Develop business requirements and draft technical design specifications for use in developing future systems and enhancing current systems
Assist in the coordination and prioritization of work for the development team, maintain project roadmaps to ensure deadlines are met, escalating risks as needed to keep projects on track
Support the development life cycle and ensure that testing scripts are prepared, resources are secured, and testing is completed in a timely and satisfactory manner
Coordinate and prepare the annual cross-departmental strategic development plans for the firm’s senior management team and prepare and deliver recurring project management updates for the management team
Identify future needs of the systems with which the project manager interfaces and make recommendations regarding opportunities to improve scalability, efficiency, and effectiveness
Assist in the daily status monitoring and troubleshooting of issues related to firm’s portfolio accounting software (Advent Geneva) and several custom-built Java platforms
Qualification
Required
expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred
5-7 years of experience developing and supporting applications for aspects of fund administration in a modern financial services organization
technical background (SQL, MS Access, VBA)
