Responsibilities
Program Coordinators provide direct support services to members using person-centered approaches and strategies that support members to be fully engaged and include in each aspect of his or her daily life, have maximum choice and control, and gain independence
Program Coordinators are knowledgeable about crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution techniques and should match such techniques to particular circumstances and individuals
Program Coordinators coordinate and lead competency-based direct support staff training and professional development activities, including coaching and mentoring
Program Coordinators are expected to always be on-call during the week
Program Coordinators are expected to be on-call on the weekends, unless they are off duty as a result of being part of an on-call coverage rotation with another Program Coordinator
It is the responsibility of the Program Coordinator to communicate properly to their staff the on-call rotation
Qualification
Required
Direct supervision of Direct Support Professionals and adult individuals with disabilities
Provide and teach opportunities for informed choice
Follow guidelines according to each individual service and support plan
Continuously improve practices and maintain employee respect and retention
Maintain premium quality care, independence, and advancement of clients
Provide direct support services using person-centered approaches
Knowledgeable about crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution techniques
Coordinate and lead competency-based direct support staff training
Be on-call during the week and weekends as part of an on-call coverage rotation
