Mayo Clinic Healthcare London is seeking a Research Fellow in the Neuroscience department to work on a project identifying biomarkers for tauopathies, including Alzheimer’s disease. Responsibilities
Work on the funded project aimed at identifying biomarkers that predict tauopathies including Alzheimer’s disease through proteomic analysis of human biofluid
Focus on identification of candidate molecules from proteomic profiling, computational data analysis and experimental validation using human biofluid samples and/or patient derived iPSC or organoid systems
Keep records and data of all scientific experiments according to established procedures
Occasionally supervise students
Act as a source of information and advice to other members of the group on scientific protocols and experimental techniques
Draft manuscripts for scientific journals and present work internally and externally for career development
Qualification
Required
Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program
Less than 3 years of postdoc experiences
Expertise in neuroscience, proteomics, cell cultures with cell lines and/or iPSC derived neurons, and computational data analysis
Team players with high scientific standards and communication skills
Ability to work in an interactive, fast-paced environment
Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic
