Document Center Operator (Part-Time)

The City of Green Bay is seeking a Document Center Operator to perform clerical and operating assistance in the Document Center. The role involves operating various printing equipment, maintaining records, and processing mail, while working part-time hours.

Responsibilities

Performs recordkeeping and billing to internal and external customers
Operates digital copiers (B&W and Color) and plotter/wide format printer and prints various materials including reports, books, Council proceedings, minutes, agendas, carbonless paper, cardstock, miscellaneous forms, posters, marketing and event materials
Operates related office equipment including stitcher, cutter, folder, sorter, laminator, shrink wrap machine, mailing machine and envelope inserter
Performs formatting work with desktop Microsoft and Adobe Creative Suite software (Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign)
Processes incoming and outgoing mail (including election ballots & packages)
Performs simple maintenance of equipment as required, including daily and weekly cleanup
Works with various delivery vendors to ensure all packages and letters are received by intended recipients
Sends out various packages/returns (up to 150 pounds) and calculates most cost-effective method of transport
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
One year of printing related experience required
Good knowledge of principles and techniques in the operation of standard duplicating machines and related equipment
Good knowledge of machine safety practices
Knowledge and ability to operate a variety of printing and printing related equipment, including digital copiers, stitcher/stapler, collator, folder, paper cutter, punch press, perforator, shrink wrap machine, laminator, plotter, envelope inserter, and Microsoft and Adobe Creative Suite software (Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign)
Considerable skill in following oral and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public
Ability to utilize a computer and the required software
Ability to work the required hours of the position
Ability to perform the following activities: Lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds, Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, Ability to focus on projects for long periods of time, Ability to reach, stoop and lift
