Responsibilities
Ownership of design of mechanical structures and components
Deep understanding of and ability to create accurate Bills of Material (BOMs)
Develop new products using 3D solid modeling software (SolidWorks & Onshape)
Create detail drawings of 3D models (SolidWorks & Onshape)
Work with procurement team to order prototype parts and manage creation of prototypes
Work closely with design engineers to make sure products are analyzed and changes in incorporated
Ability to accurately measure existing equipment and adept at reverse engineering workflow
Make modifications to new designs based on results of testing
Assist technical publications in creation of manuals (parts books, service manuals, operator manuals)
ECR review and recommend approval/rejection
ECO creation and give recommendations on implementation
Qualification
Required
10+ years' experience in engineering environment
5+ years' direct experience designing machines or mechanical equipment
Proficient in use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Proficient in engineering design software – 3D and 2D
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Understanding and use of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, etc.)
Preferred
Skilled in the art of steel fabrication including welding, machining, bending, etc
Familiar with mobile hydraulic equipment, specifically cranes
