Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-level network architectures including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), and SD-WAN solutions
Configure and manage network security devices such as firewalls (Cisco ASA), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), and Cisco ISE for identity services
Implement and support network protocols including TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, IPsec, DNS, DHCP, and QoS to ensure optimal data flow and security
Conduct vulnerability assessments and perform regular network security audits utilizing tools like Splunk and SolarWinds to identify potential threats
Manage data center infrastructure involving SAN (Storage Area Network), VMware vSphere environments, high availability configurations, and server virtualization
Support cloud security initiatives by integrating AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud environments with existing network systems
Automate network operations using scripting languages such as Python or Bash, along with configuration management tools like Ansible
Monitor network performance through PRTG or SolarWinds platforms; troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system administration tasks involving Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian), UNIX variants (Solaris, BSD), and Windows operating systems
Maintain comprehensive documentation of network architecture diagrams, configurations, policies, and procedures aligned with ITIL standards
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in computer networking with a strong focus on enterprise IT infrastructure management
Extensive knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP; network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP; and encryption standards like SSL/TLS
Hands-on experience configuring Cisco routers/switches, Meraki devices, Juniper equipment, and other networking hardware
Familiarity with network security frameworks including PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), SSO (Single Sign-On), SFTP/FTP protocols
Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Citrix; cloud platforms like AWS or Azure; and containerization concepts
Strong scripting skills in Python or Shell Scripting for automation purposes
Knowledge of operating systems including Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS) and Windows Server environments
Ability to perform vulnerability assessments using tools like SolarWinds or Splunk
Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to work effectively within an Agile development environment
Preferred
Experience with high availability configurations is preferred
Experience with Ansible is advantageous
