Field Service Technician (Southwest Territory - Significant Work in CA, Field-Based Role)

Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
Perform complex equipment overhauls, assemblies, and installations with minimal supervision
Weld and fabricate parts and connections using stick and wire-feed processes
Conduct hydraulic pressure checks, system performance evaluations, and minor field adjustments
Support warranty inspections, rig performance checks, and onsite customer troubleshooting visits
Collaborate with engineering teams on hydraulic and electrical system design feedback and improvements
Maintain accurate service documentation, maintenance logs, and warranty reporting
Manage assigned service truck inventory, tools, materials, and equipment to ensure readiness and safe operation
Build strong customer relationships through consistent service touchpoints and technical communication
Identify equipment needs and recommend parts or service solutions to improve customer performance
Work across multiple environments, including Bay Shore facilities, customer sites, and mobile field locations
Participate in required safety training, technical development, and continuing education
Travel requirement: 85% travel throughout the Southwest territory, with frequent work in California, but not limited to
Qualification
Required
3-7 years of hands-on experience in heavy mechanical, hydraulic, or mobile equipment repair
Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and basic electrical systems
Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation
Proven ability to troubleshoot equipment failures using schematics, drawings, and field diagnostics
Proficiency with welding stick (stick and wire-feed required)
Skilled with hand tools, measurement tools, and power tools in field environments
Willingness to travel extensively and accommodate field assignments as needed
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
OSHA 30 certification (required)
Valid passport (required)
Preferred
CDL endorsement preferred
Familiarity with foundation drilling equipment is a plus, but not required
Technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or related trades is beneficial (or equivalent experience)
