Responsibilities
Assist office managers in supporting and supervising back-office employees
Work chair-side with dentists, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties
Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays)
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
Take impressions of the patient's teeth (models), extractions, composite fillings, etc
Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
Ask about the patient's medical history and take blood pressure and pulse
Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
Qualification
Required
CDA or RDA and EFDA course completion (as mandated per state requirements)
X-ray certification
1+ years of experience as an EFDA
Preferred
Coronal Polishing certification is a plus
