Responsibilities
Provide hands-on lineside engineering support for a production line, driving improvements across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
Lead process and equipment optimization initiatives to increase capacity, reduce waste, improve quality, and lower costs using data-driven methods
Design, modify, and implement machine, tooling, and fixture improvements, including installation, debugging, and commissioning
Troubleshoot and support cam-driven equipment integrated with pneumatic, servo, and PLC-controlled systems and sensors
Spend 70–80% of time on the manufacturing floor, supporting troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities in a fast-paced environment
Support capital projects by providing design input, installation assistance, and technical leadership
Coordinate with Maintenance, Operations, EHS, R&D, and equipment vendors to execute improvements and resolve issues
Manage small to mid-scale projects, including CAR preparation, vendor selection, contractor oversight, and cost control
Maintain and update engineering documentation (SOPs, PMs, ECNs, BOMs, validations)
Train and support production and maintenance teams on new equipment, processes, and safe work practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience
3+ years of experience in manufacturing/process engineering with strong on-the-floor involvement
Hands-on expertise in mechanical design, equipment modification, and troubleshooting
Experience with cam-driven machinery integrating pneumatic, servo, and PLC-based systems
Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Strong understanding of maintenance principles and collaboration with maintenance teams
Experience managing multiple improvement and capital projects simultaneously
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Clear communicator able to present technical information to non-technical audiences
Comfortable working in a high-speed, production-focused environment
