Responsibilities

Serve as a senior COBOL developer on complex mainframe projects, with over 7 years of relevant experience

Provide leadership on development tasks, with at least 2 years in a lead developer role

Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot COBOL 74/85 programs and mainframe batch jobs

Conduct system analysis, design, programming, and both unit and integrated testing on mainframes

Create and update technical documentation, including design specs, code walk-throughs, and test plans

Monitor production processes, perform error diagnostics, and debug mainframe applications

Review, translate, and extract business rules and logic from COBOL source code

Work extensively with Cobol routines, TIP screens, ECL, and batch processes

Utilize RDMS and DMS database structures, data dictionaries, and manage source code

Support and maintain Child Support Management System applications

Collaborate within information technology teams, preferably in a government environment

Ensure project deliverables meet technical and business requirements throughout the 14-month onsite engagement in Albany, NY
