Mid LevelAgility Partners is seeking a skilled Power Systems Automation Engineer to support the development of an advanced outage‑coordination analysis platform. This role focuses on automating stability and transfer‑capability studies to improve decision-making around transmission outages as grid complexity continues to grow.

Responsibilities
Automate end‑to‑end outage coordination analysis workflows
Integrate operational and planning data from diverse systems including EMS, PI, CIMSpy, and outage management tools
Support steady‑state and dynamic stability assessments (VSAT/TSAT)
Enable flexible creation of transfer definitions, contingencies, and simulation scenarios
Develop intuitive visualization, reporting, and modular functionality to support scalable adoption
Develop connectors to EMS, PI, CIMSpy, CROW, and other operational data sources
Apply outages, zoning logic, and prepare stressed base cases
Build configurable modules for transfers, contingencies, and fault definitions
Automate execution of VSAT/TSAT studies and batch modeling processes
Produce study outputs including stability margins, system impacts, and assessment summaries
Create dashboards, maps, and graphical summaries for engineering users
Build and enhance a Tkinter‑based interface for workflow orchestration
Implement automated regression testing, benchmarking, and quality verification
Case conversions between modeling formats (.RAW, .PFB) with HVDC fidelity
Security‑constrained redispatch and forward‑looking load forecast integration (SDX)
Node‑breaker model compatibility
Expansion to additional study types beyond baseline stability analyses
Proxy‑constraint identification for operational risk mitigation
Interface risk metric development to quantify system vulnerabilities
Modular, executable-based software package with extensible architecture
Engineering‑friendly GUI tools, APIs, and scripting interfaces
Dashboards, reports, and visualization tools for outage coordination
Comprehensive documentation, test cases, validation records, and deployment guides
Ongoing integration support and configuration assistance
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated experience with power system stability studies, outage coordination, or transmission system operations
Hands-on proficiency with stability tools such as DSATools (VSAT, TSAT)
Experience working with EMS/SCADA data, PI historians, CIMSpy, or related utility data ecosystems
Strong software engineering skills (Python preferred) with experience building production-grade tools
Familiarity with GUI development (e.g., Tkinter) and data‑driven visualization
Ability to collaborate with SMEs, interpret system requirements, and translate them into technical solutions
Understanding of cybersecurity and data-governance practices applicable to energy systems
