Quality/Test Engineer

EPITEC is seeking a Test Engineer to support the planning, execution, and analysis of sound and vibration testing for machine systems. This highly hands-on role involves physical test setup, instrumentation, data analysis, and collaboration with engineering teams to inform product design decisions.

Responsibilities

Plan, set up, execute, and document sound and vibration tests, including analysis and reporting of results and recommendations
Design, build, and modify cab mockups and test structures for use in lab, test bay, and outdoor proving ground environments
Prepare and install instrumentation such as microphones and accelerometers; troubleshoot instrumentation and test setups as needed
Execute tests with or without machine operators, following defined test plans and safety requirements
Collaborate with sound engineers, electronics engineers, and product design engineers to review designs, define test plans, and communicate findings
Support senior engineers with test setup and execution while progressively taking ownership of projects as capability is demonstrated
Participate in planning, documentation, and design review meetings, including remote collaboration with cross-functional teams

Required

5–7 years of experience (internship experience accepted)
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline that included dynamics or NVH-related coursework or labs (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar)
High initiative with the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects
Strong communication skills for working with cross-functional engineering teams and presenting test results
Ability to process, interpret, and draw conclusions from frequency-based and high-frequency data
Solid understanding of mechanical systems and audio/acoustic principles
Hands-on experience with instrumentation such as microphones and accelerometers, including proper application and setup
Experience processing and interpreting high-frequency or vibration-related data
Ability to perform physical work, including climbing machines, working in test bays, and using hand tools
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills in a hands-on engineering environment
Candidates with only simulation-based experience and no hands-on physical testing background will not be considered

Preferred

Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems
Familiarity with audio metrics such as intelligibility or related acoustic concepts
Hands-on hobby or work experience involving tools, fabrication, carpentry, or automotive/audio installation is a plus
