Responsibilities
Serve as the primary engineering authority for HPC data center design, construction, commissioning, and operations
Define and maintain engineering standards, design baselines, and technical reference architectures for HPC facilities
Ensure data center designs meet high-density compute, liquid/air cooling, power, resiliency, and energy efficiency requirements
Lead engineering reviews across disciplines (electrical, mechanical, controls, networking) to ensure technical rigor and integration
Oversee engineering change management and technical risk mitigation throughout the facility lifecycle
Develop and maintain engineering KPIs related to performance, reliability, efficiency, and learning-curve improvements
Partner closely with operations teams to optimize uptime, maintainability, and long-term asset performance
Stay current on emerging data center, power, cooling, and AI infrastructure technologies and evaluate applicability
Interface with EPCM partners, OEMs, and third-party technical experts to validate designs and solutions
Drive development of engineering documentation, standards, and QA/QC processes
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
10+ years of experience in mission-critical data center engineering and/or operations, with depth in HPC or hyperscale environments
Demonstrated expertise in power, cooling, resiliency, and high-density compute infrastructure
Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to influence design outcomes across multiple stakeholders
Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor and engineering authority
Preferred
Understanding of AI/ML workloads and how they translate into compute, power, and cooling requirements
