They are seeking a Technical Data Specialist (Intern) to support IT systems, data initiatives, and emerging technology projects within the Engineering & Technical Services team, providing hands-on experience in data analytics and technical consulting.

Responsibilities
Assist in gathering, cleaning, and organizing structured and unstructured data from systems such as Salesforce, Excel, ArcGIS, and internal databases
Support development and maintenance of dashboards and reports in Power BI and Excel
Perform data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and consistency
Contribute to recurring reporting deliverables for internal leadership and client teams
Help translate business requirements into structured data outputs
Assist with system configuration, documentation, and user support across multiple platforms
Support data workflow improvements and basic automation efforts
Help maintain data integrity across integrated systems
Document processes, technical workflows, and system updates
Provide technical support during project implementations as needed
Support cross-functional teams in tracking key metrics and project milestones
Assist in preparing technical materials for internal and client-facing meetings
Contribute to operational documentation, process mapping, and after-action reviews
Support special projects within Engineering & Technical Services
Research emerging AI tools and platforms that could improve internal workflows or client deliverables
Assist in evaluating AI-powered analytics, automation, and reporting solutions
Support pilot initiatives exploring AI integration into data processes
Help document findings, use cases, risks, and potential implementation pathways
Stay informed on trends in artificial intelligence, automation, and data technologies
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in: Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related technical field
Strong interest in data analytics, IT systems, and emerging technologies (including AI)
Basic proficiency in: Excel, Power BI (academic or internship experience acceptable), SQL (introductory knowledge preferred)
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
Demonstrated curiosity and initiative in learning new technologies
Must be at least 18 years old
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must pass a background check upon offer of employment
Must reside or be close to Tallahassee, Florida
Must be willing and able to travel to various work sites as needed
Must be willing and able to work long hours in emergency response environments
Preferred
Exposure to Python, Tableau, Salesforce, ArcGIS, or automation tools
Academic or internship experience building dashboards or working with structured datasets
Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., prompt engineering, automation tools, analytics copilots)
Interest in public sector consulting or mission-driven environments
Ability to work independently while also collaborating in team settings
