Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for single-family residential projects in Richardson, TX
Review architectural and engineering drawings to identify scope, materials, and labor requirements
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing
Develop and maintain project budgets, tracking cost changes throughout the construction lifecycle
Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure estimates align with actual construction activities
Assist with value engineering efforts to optimize cost efficiency without compromising quality
Support permit documentation, scheduling coordination, and compliance with local building codes in Richardson
Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and project-related documentation
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in construction estimating or construction engineering
Direct experience with single-family residential construction projects
Proficiency with estimating software and construction management tools (e.g., Buildertrend, Procore, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar)
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and residential building codes
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills to coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
