Responsibilities
Assist the Sign Technician in the manufacturing, installation and maintenance of street signage on county, state and private roads
Operate the paint striper for striping parking lots, boat landings and other County maintained facilities
Assist the Supply Technician as needed
Maintains logs and records of signage needed throughout the County
Manufactures street signs
Installs street and County signage
Transports signage to appropriate agencies
Assists in the ordering of materials
Maintains the inventory of signs and materials
Inspects street signs throughout the County
Operates forklift
Analyzes GIS to locate streets that require new signage
Performs graphic design of signage
Assists with natural disasters such as floods and hurricanes
Maintains awareness of site safety for proper and safe installation of signs
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent preferred; classes will be offered to those interested in pursuing a diploma
One (1) year of related maintenance experience
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license for South Carolina with safe driving record
Ability to read and write
Ability to operate small hand tools and equipment
Ability to manage inventory and property
Ability to make budget recommendations
Ability to use small office equipment, computers and highly technical computer applications
Ability to use or repair small and medium equipment and machinery
Preferred
Forklift operator certified preferred
