Principal Electrical Engineer– Control and Monitor (Onsite)

Responsibilities
Design and develop advanced control and monitoring systems for electro-mechanical components and subsystems
Design and implement control algorithms for medium voltage and high voltage drive systems
Perform Hardware in the loop (HIL) real-time modelling and simulations using MATLAB/Simulink
Lead and collaborate in the development, testing, and validation of control algorithms and system performance
Perform systems engineering tasks such as requirements analysis, functional decomposition, and interface definition
Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to control and monitoring systems
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration of control systems
Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, test plans, and user guides
Mentor and guide junior engineers in the design and development of control and monitoring technologies
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink for modeling, simulation, and analysis
Strong knowledge of control theory, signal processing, and systems engineering principles
Experience with electro-mechanical systems, including motors, actuators, sensors, and embedded systems
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and collaboration skills
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
Preferred
Proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA system design, HMI creation, and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP)
Experience in the aerospace or defense industry
Familiarity with industry standards and certifications related to control systems
Knowledge of embedded programming and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
Proven ability to manage and deliver on complex engineering projects
