Mid LevelOrbit Platform HQ is seeking its first full-stack engineer to own the backend and API that power their platform. This role involves designing and maintaining scalable backend systems, implementing and evolving the REST API, and managing integrations while collaborating with the product and frontend teams.

Design and maintain scalable backend systems in Ruby on Rails

Own integrations (e.g., Twilio, email, QR)

Collaborating with product and frontend/mobile on API contracts
Shipping features from lightweight specs

Keeping the platform reliable as usage grows
Qualification
Required
Strong experience with Ruby on Rails (or similar), SQL, and REST/API design
Comfort with minimal specs and ambiguity; you ask the right questions and ship
Care about security, operability, and clean contracts; you think in systems, not just features
Ability to work collaboratively in a small, fast-paced team
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
Interest in Orbit's mission: connection, community, and real-world activities
