One Haus is a Boutique Hotel Brand located on the North Fork near New York City. They are seeking a Director of Engineering to oversee the maintenance and operations of two hotel properties, ensuring overall operational excellence and leading the Maintenance and Landscaping teams.

Responsibilities
Directly manage Maintenance and Landscaping teams, including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management
Foster a productive, positive team environment
Oversee purchasing, supply inventory, maintenance request systems, reporting, and documentation
Research and negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing and availability
Maintain safe and sanitary property conditions
Prepare and manage the annual departmental budget in collaboration with senior leadership
Monitor departmental expenditures to ensure adherence to budget and operational standards
Complete payroll and timekeeping logs
Ensure staff compliance with SOPs and safety standards
Prioritize daily work orders and interface with senior leadership as needed
Oversee preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability
Conduct regular property-wide inspections
Review capital expenditure requests prior to approval
Monitor guest feedback and service quality standards
Track utility usage and operational efficiency
Oversee maintenance of company vehicles
Manage relationships with outside contractors and agencies for major projects
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding hazardous materials
Conduct regular departmental and safety meetings
Promote and comply with company policies and procedures
Report suspicious activity or hazardous conditions immediately
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment
Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Professional certification or licensing as required by law
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English (additional languages a plus)
Ability to document tasks, interpret manuals, and order supplies
Working knowledge of budgeting and basic financial concepts
Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience required
Preferred
Prior experience in hospitality, extended stay, or multi-unit residential maintenance preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred
