The N.C. Department of Adult Correction is responsible for the care and custody of adult offenders in North Carolina. They are seeking a Correctional Program Director I to oversee statewide programs, manage daily operations, and provide strategic leadership and compliance oversight.

Responsibilities

Direct statewide complex programs within the agency
Oversee all operations and services provided by staff
Strategic and tactical planning
Organizing and managing daily operations
Human resources management and staff development
Program policy and procedure design and implementation
Administrative, programmatic and fiscal oversight via regular supervision, guidance, training, and technical assistance to staff
Provide state-level policy guidance, comprehensive monitoring and forming federal, state and local linkages

Required

Bachelor's degree in a human services or criminal justice field from an appropriately accredited institution
Two years of experience in correctional programs management or related work
Documented knowledge of report writing
Documented knowledge of case management practices, or supportive counseling techniques and/or interviewing techniques for intake assessments
