Electronics Mechanic (Open until filled)
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is seeking an Electronics Mechanic to perform installation, testing, and maintenance on various electronic systems including Fire Alarm devices and Security Cameras. The incumbent will also be responsible for troubleshooting electronic faults and making recommendations for integrated security systems.

Responsibilities
The incumbent responsibilities include installation, testing and maintenance of on Fire Alarm devices, Life Safety Devices, Security Devices, Door Access controls and Security Cameras
The incumbent will be responsible to install, maintain, and monitor an integrated system that consist of a Building Automation System (BAS) or Physical Security Information Management system
Makes recommendations for the integrated system regarding the selection of physical and electronic security systems equipment that may be multi-layered
Troubleshoot electronic faults on commercial and domestic HVAC Electrical, and Plumbing systems. These systems include but not limited to BAS controls, HVAC electronic valves, VFD's, Motors Starters, Motors, Controls, Floats, Doors, and Hardware
Recommends/performs electronic controls work and projects that most effectively serve the Kennedy Center distribution and equipment by extending the life cycle, rebuilding neglected systems or replacing them entirely

Required
US Citizenship is required
Suitable for Federal employment, determined by background investigation
Direct Deposit of pay is required
Selective Service registration required for male applicants, unless exempt
A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. (SCREEN OUT) (OPM Job Element 1)
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. (OPM Job Element 2-E)
Troubleshooting (Electronic Equipment) (OPM Job Element 96-C)
Use of Test Equipment: Electronics (OPM Job Element 60-A)
Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are determined by evaluation of job elements. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all of the job elements in order to be considered qualified for this position
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social)
The role involves strenuous physical labor, including maneuvering heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs, occasionally more) and working in confined, elevated, and hard-to-reach areas
Tasks require climbing ladders, scaffolding, and stair towers over 100 feet, walking long distances, and working in extreme weather conditions
The incumbent faces hazards such as electric shock, falls, burns, and exposure to fumes, noise, and vibrations, while using PPE
Operation of various vehicles and equipment (cars, trucks up to 25,000 lbs GVW, lifts, forklifts, ATVs) is required
Work may occur near high-speed traffic and demands constant alertness
The position requires availability for overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency response, including natural disasters
Designated as 'Emergency Essential,' the incumbent must report during hazardous conditions and make critical decisions during electrical emergencies, often collaborating with contractors and other staff
