STUDENT ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION ENGINEER
Rhode Island Department of Corrections is seeking a Student Environmental Remediation Engineer to assist in the cleanup of contaminated properties. The role involves reviewing technical information, conducting research, compiling data, and communicating with the public regarding environmental remediation efforts.

Responsibilities
Assist in ensuring consistency and certainty in the application of clean up objectives for soil and groundwater at contaminated properties
Under the direction of a superior review technical information which may include or relate to laboratory analysis of environmental media and the results thereof
Application of numerical environmental media quality standards, and engineering plans and schematics relating to site conditions and proposed remedies
Conduct research to develop policy and/or regulations
Compile and analyze data
Prepare documents of correspondence consistent with Department processes and procedures to communicate with responsible parties regarding their responsibilities under the Department's rules and regulations
Interact with the general public to appropriately disseminate information regarding the investigation and remediation of contaminated sites
Do related work as required
Qualification
Required
Applicants must be a matriculating student in a college of recognized standing with specialization in either Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
