Responsibilities

Promoting public understanding of Ahtna culture, the Ahtna Mission, and the Vision for Ahtna Cultural Center
Assist visitors in developing a keener awareness, appreciation and understanding of the Ahtna lands and NPS they are visiting
Answering phone calls, providing visitors with NPS and Ahtna lands maps, and information they will need while visiting the NPS and Ahtna Lands, including regulations and rules
Providing guided walks, talks, audiovisual presentations, and programs
Assist in the planning and implementing of special initiatives, education, and outreach programs
Ability to learn in a on the job environment and provide a level of professionalism to the public
Attentiveness to safety and ability to take training for safety requirements
Ability to be both self-directed/work alone, and be a positive, contributing member of a group
Willingness to be in remote areas in camping scenarios such as: Archeology digs, Moose hide Tanning Camp, Migratory Birds Camp, Culture Camps, Museum visits in other towns
Flexibility of days of the week worked Sunday through Saturday
Performing other duties as assigned

Required

Ahtna shareholder or descendent
Age range: 18-30 years of age (up to 35 for veterans)
Ahtna Language and Cultural knowledge
Ability to work 8-hour days, 5 days a week with flexibility on the days of the week
Applicant interested in learning field work and on the job training
Ability to complete and pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
Ability to use computer and programs necessary to complete duties
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Preferred

CPR/1st Aid certified
Strong computer skills, including expertise with MS Office suite
Driver's license
