Tesla is seeking a highly motivated individual to support training initiatives at their Lathrop, CA location. The Training Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating new hire training for all Lathrop employees, while also providing ongoing development opportunities for current team members in a production environment.

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the Tesla onboarding team to ensure a seamless transition into training, including scheduling, logistics, and communication. Maintain detailed tracking of new hires, manage certifications and station assignments, and lead a team of workstation trainers for each respective shop. Be prepared to work lineside throughout your shift with associates to proactively assess training progress
Effectively allocate groups to appropriate training programs to prepare them for their roles. Continuously learn new process skills from engineering and shop process owners, staying up to date with the latest revisions in process operations. Provide cross-training to employees on the correct techniques
Communicate proactively with students, stakeholders, and managers regarding planned and completed training, based on their needs. Work closely with production leaders to ensure training efforts align with business objectives
Maintain constant engagement with manufacturing, production leadership, technical writing, process engineering, and other departments to stay updated on the latest revisions of process operations. Able to navigate through JIRA, actively monitoring and auditing ticket closure, engaging the teams on actions needed to close issues and can speak to closure rates week over week
Facilitate live training sessions on the manufacturing floor for new hires, existing employees, and any other required training sessions. Able to mentor new facilitators, able to certify on required safety courses, target trainings based on high failure rates, and demonstrate the ability to simulate a hands-on environment for training that might not be able to be conducted on the line
Ensure the Learning Management System (LMS) is accurate and up to date, reflecting the latest course revisions. Maintain accurate Versatility Charts to properly track certification coverage across the factory. Able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency to close certification gaps, able to speak to weekly and daily progress, and execute self-certifications to provide a better training experience
Set clear expectations for new and existing hires in alignment with Tesla standards, ensuring they understand safety, quality, and efficiency requirements

Required

Minimum of 2 years working in Tesla Production is a plus (Lead and/or Welder experience preferred)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong presenter with passion to facilitate large groups
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Demonstrates professionalism including communication, dress, and attitude while modelling the company's core values of integrity, collaboration, and getting it done
Proven ability to be highly organized with a strong attention to detail

Preferred

Background or understanding of adult learning principles and Learning Management System (LMS) is a plus
