Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a comprehensive security framework that spans hybrid cloud and on-premise industrial environments
Investigate and implement end-to-end encryption for data at rest and in transit, specifically protecting robotic telemetry and video training data
Design and manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and modern authentication protocols (e.g., OIDC, SAML) across the fleet and developer platforms
Establish secure, auditable remote access solutions for engineers to troubleshoot robots at customer sites without compromising facility network integrity
Troubleshoot and harden networking configurations, addressing performance and security challenges in complex industrial environments
Audit and secure infrastructure deployments using tools like Terraform, Helm, and Ansible
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to security-related outages or vulnerabilities
Work closely with customer IT teams to ensure Apptronik's solution meets stringent enterprise security and safety requirements
Qualification
Required
Proven experience with encryption standards, RBAC, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) systems
Hands-on Linux systems engineering and networking experience
Proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform, Helm, and Ansible
Development experience in Kubernetes and managing security within containerized environments
Proficiency in Python or Go for building security tooling and automation
Strong communication skills and customer empathy to navigate facility-specific security restrictions
A self-starter who takes initiative and seeks ownership of the end-to-end security solution
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure systems
Demonstrated experience in distributed systems security and cloud-native infrastructure
Preferred
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen
Hearing and speech to communicate
