Responsibilities

Assist in the payroll input and review of the bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls in Canada
Ensure the accuracy of payroll inputs from third-party vendors, timekeeping systems, and HRIS platforms
Perform detailed analysis and validation of payroll results using reports and audits
Audit timekeeping system data before exporting it to the payroll system
Reconcile HRIS (Workday) files with the payroll system (ADP)
Conduct payroll general ledger account reconciliations and collaborate with the Accounting team to resolve discrepancies
Perform root cause analysis to identify issues and recommend preventative solutions
Continuously assess payroll processes for improvement opportunities and support standardization initiatives
Develop and maintain clear and accurate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Communicate effectively with internal partners, vendors and leadership, providing exceptional customer support
Apply company policies to ensure correct payment of wages, overtime, bonuses, and benefit accruals
Maintain compliance with payroll regulations, tax legislation, and labor standards

Required

Minimum of 3 years of payroll-related experience, with at least one year supporting payroll in Canada
Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
Experience in payroll operations within a shared services or multi-province environment
Ability to manage tasks independently while applying documented guidelines and past practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong time management and organizational abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Experience with Workday and ADP Globalview systems
Ability to troubleshoot payroll issues and analyze reports
Strong interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent customer service
Capacity to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement

Preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred
PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) or CPM (Certified Payroll Manager) certification is a plus
