Signal Technician I - Road & Bridge

They are seeking a Signal Technician I to troubleshoot and resolve electrical component problems with traffic signals, fabricate and install school zone flashers, and participate in emergency management activities.
Government Administration

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots electrical component problems with traffic signal; resolve problems and monitor traffic signal to ensure no further problems occur
Fabricates and installs school zone flashers at designed school; flasher is programmed and assigned an identification number; flasher is monitored and maintained for proper working order
Fabricates and installs missing or damaged signal related signs as needed
Responsible for placing signs at appropriate locations at construction site; flag traffic around work zone through communication with co-workers
Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers
Participates in on-call schedule

Required

High School Diploma/GED
Knowledge of M.U.T.C.D. (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices)
2 years of traffic signal experience
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees
Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments in a timely manner
Valid Texas Driver's License
IMSA (International Municipal Signal Association) Certification level I obtained within one year of employment

Preferred

3 years previous traffic experience
Electronic Background
Commercial Driver's License
