Responsibilities
Make initial contact with strategically identified landowners, research contact information, negotiate financeable terms, advance negotiations with landowners and their attorneys, and maintain positive working relationships
Site due diligence and factual research into land attributes and project constraints (such as real estate title, political, local, environmental, and project development issues)
Ability to strategize site control expansion/optimization, with an understanding of solar development site suitability and applicable government incentives
Learn priority legal terms for company site control agreements and liaise with legal counsel
Prepare presentation material for landowner and elected officials in collaboration with the marketing and communications team
Develop and own relationships with external project stakeholders, including landowners, local authorities, and consultants
Own project status tracking and provide regular reporting to the regional development lead
Navigate permitting processes within project communities and communicate requirements to relevant project stakeholders
Support due diligence for development or acquisition projects, including summarizing project facts, perceived risks, and opportunities, including quantitative assessments
Support and fulfill tasks in alignment with established development budgets and schedules
Communicate with local community stakeholders about the company's background and development plans
Support overall development of utility-scale projects to the successful start of construction, working with in-house and external subject matter experts

Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or industry equivalent and/or working towards a graduate degree is desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well in a team and adapt to an entrepreneurial environment
Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage tasks efficiently
A proactive and enthusiastic mindset, with a focus on learning and professional development
Preferred
Prior internship experience and land acquisition, project development, or other renewable energy field preferred
A strong interest in the renewable energy sector and a passion for decarbonization initiatives
